It certainly has been a busy summer market thusfar for the aquilotti who have managed to add both quality and depth to a squad that surprised many last season. Lotito has shown an unusual vigor in signing six new players in less than10 days. Add to this the resigning of a critical component such as Radu, and one might even detect a hint of ambition  - and that's something that beloved of the Biancoceleste have not felt for a long time.

However, in spite of some high profile aquisitions such as Cisse' and Klose, Lazio have also traded two key components of last season's fifth place squad in Lichsteiner and Muslera.  Moreover, the club has not addressed a key area of concern in the central defense.  Although defense was the bedrock of Reja's squad, it was also clear that beyond the starting duo of Diaz and Biava, the team struggled to maintain it's defensive consistency. This next year, with the club involved Europaleague as well as the two domestic cups, depth will be critical to success. At least this year, Lotito and co. have dipped into the market early and often. Let's hope the well doesn't run dry just yet.
